You Don't Need to Be in Shape to Start With KPT

Starting sessions with a personal trainer can feel intimidating for many people. There might be concerns around whether you can handle the load. If you worry you're not in enough shape to see a personal trainer, you're not alone.

For some people, it's fear. There's vulnerability in exercising in front of someone else: Worry that you'll look silly, that I'll be surprised by where you're starting, that I'll judge you. This is incredibly common--I can't tell you how many times during client assessments that people apologize for their baseline. Here's my simple reply: Everyone started at the beginning. And even after years of training and coaching, I'm personally still working on things.

For others, the worry about being in shape isn't based in fear—it's just a preference to do some legwork first. Wanting to get a head start is valid.  But setting efficient movement patterns from the get-go is important. Once a pattern becomes a habit, it can take a while to retrain. I’ve spent 19 years helping people build strength from the ground up, and starting with beginners is some of my favorite work. We’ll set solid movement patterns from day one, so every step forward is built on a strong foundation.

You don’t need to be in shape to start. That’s what I’m here for. Whether you walk in worried or ready to go, we’ll build your fitness together, one smart decision at a time.
